| Definition | An autonomous profiling float rated to 1000 m (with a 2000 m version available on request) capable of profiling up to 3 times a day. The base of the float contains Seatrec’s thermal energy harvesting system which, through the incorporation of Phase Change Materials (PCMs), utilises the ocean’s thermocline for changing buoyancy and electricity generation. The limitless power source enables the floats to house CTD sensors, hydrophones, and echosounders. | ||
