| Definition | A biconical plankton net with a non-filtering upper part and filtering lower part. The net is designed for vertical towing and is closed by releasing a messenger. It has a mouth diameter of 36 cm, a mouth area of 0.10 m^2, a medium ring diameter of 50 cm, an upper cone length of 120 cm, and a filtering cone length of 150 cm. The mesh size is 150 um. Described in Bogorov V.G. 1947. Instruction for hydrobiological works in sea (plankton and benthos).
