| Definition | A low frequency (13 kHz) multibeam echo sounder with a depth capability of approximately 2000 m. The EM12D is a dual version of the EM12S, with 162 beams instead of the 81 used by the EM12S. The angular coverage is variable from 98 deg, with a swath width of 2.3 times depth, to 150 deg, with a swath width of 7.4 times depth. The EM12 series of echosounders was replaced by the EM120 in 2000. | ||
