Definition | The Marine Snow Catcher is a large volume water bottle designed to collect Marine Snow particles. The water transport through the device during the descent is controlled through two large diameter terminal apertures constructed to reduce turbulence. The device is usually rested upright after recovery to allow the marine particles to sink to the bottom, after which, the overlying water is slowly drained off via a tap. The bottom section of the water bottle is detachable allowing recovery of the marine snow. | ||
