| Definition | A dual axis speed log which uses the Doppler principle to measure the longitudinal and fore/aft transversal ship speed relative to the sea bed or the water. It contains 4 x 540 kHz transducers for speed log function. An auxilliary 270 kHz transducer provides an echo sounder function which measures depth (<130 m). Speed range is +/- 40 knots (<0.2 knots accuracy). | ||
