Definition | A free-spining gyroscope which uses gravity control and earth rotation to align the gyroscope spin axis with the meridian, i.e. the true north direction. The system can apply latitude and speed correction using information from external sources such as a GPS receiver or a speed log. Settle point error: 0.1 degrees sec latitude. Static error: 0.05 degrees sec latitude RMS. Dynamic accuracy: 0.2 degrees sec latitude (Scorsby and Intercardinal motion tests). Settle point repeatability 0.1 degrees sec latitude. | |
