| Definition | A 4-14kHz sub-bottom imaging system designed to delineate and characterize sub-seabed stratigraphy, buried infrastructure and buried geohazards. The system uses beamforming and synthetic aperture processing to generate full 3D data sets that can be viewed in real time in high resolution as a continuous swath, measuring 5m wide by 5m deep. The system is outfitted with 5 x 8 channel hydrophone arrays and 3 x HF Chirp projectors. The SBI can be operated while attached to a survey vessel via a trailing arm, deployed on a Work Class Remotely Operated Vehicle (WROV), or from a ROTV wing). The SBI also utilizes INS/DVL positioning to provide accurate positional data during surveying in real time. | ||
