| Definition | The Raytheon Standard 20 gyrocompass is designed for use as a navigation aid on board ships. The STD20 compass determines the north bearing, enabling a heading to be steered in relation to true north. Via an absolute coded scanning and transmission system, it guarantees an absolute and clear transmission of the compass heading reference via a serial interface to an analog or digital repeater compass, autopilot or other periphery devices that are able to process the serial interfaces. | ||
