| Definition | A Danish manufacturer founded in Stovring, Denmark in 1979, specialised in development and manufacturing of maritime communication and navigation equipment. Shipmate was acquired by Norwegian Simrad in 1994, after which all products were marketed under SIMRAD Shipmate. In 1996, SIMRAD was acquired by the large Norwegian Kongsberg group and then in 2005 went to Navico. Navico stopped all activities in Stovring in 2007. | ||
