Definition | Activities of radionuclides and related parameters. Radionuclides occur naturally or are artificially produced (e.g. in nuclear reactors or radionuclide generators). A radionuclide is a nuclide that has excess numbers of either neutrons or protons, giving it excess nuclear energy, and making it unstable. Therefore, this group excludes stable nuclides such as carbon-13 and nitrogen-14. | ||
